①There stands a hospital on the hill.
②There is a hospital on the hill.
③There is a hospital standing on the hill.
④A hospital is standing on the hill.
⑤A hospital stands on the hill.
すなわち、①で使われている stand は be located, be situated と同義なので be 動詞の is で置き換え可能です。
★Longman の記載
stand = in a state/condition
[linking verb] to be or stay in a particular state or condition
③There is a hospital standing on the hill.
There is a hotel (being) located on the hill.
④A hospital is standing on the hill.
A man is standing on the hill.
⑤A hospital stands on the hill.
There is a book on the desk. と A book is on the desk.
There stands a hospital on the hill.
③There is a hospital standing on the hill. (OK)
④A hospital is standing on the hill.
⑤A hospital stands on the hill.(文法は正しいが、書き替えとしてはダメ)
